Costco Is Opening 10+ Warehouses in These Locations Soon

The new locations will be located in California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Virginia. In addition, Costco is also opening new stores in Canada and Mexico.
The new stores will offer customers a wide selection of products, including groceries, electronics, home goods, and more. Customers will also be able to take advantage of Costco’s low prices and great customer service.

These four warehouses are just putting the finishing touches on before they open their doors in Florida, Texas, California, and Wisconsin. According to local news publication The St. Augustine Record, the first Costco in St. John’s County, Fla. will be checking memberships on August 3, and will feature a liquor store, a tire center, and a gas station. College Station, Texas, home to Texas A&M University, will follow closely behind on August 4.
For the Murrieta, Calif. location, an exact opening date has not yet been confirmed, but the building efforts have been in the works since 2018. It was initially put on hold due to nearby residents’ concerns about the environmental and traffic impacts of a 151,000-square-foot store, The Press-Enterprise reported.
Last but not least, opening in late August, Verona, Wis. will be the third Costco in the Madison area, though there is no confirmed launch date as of yet.

The Kirkland expansion takes no breaks, but the beginning of fall will start off slow, with just two ribbon-cutting ceremonies in the Southwestern and Pacific-Northwest regions of the country.
The warehouse in Queen Creek, Ariz., a suburb of Phoenix, will be developed as part of a wider retail center called “Queen Creek Center”, ABC15 reported in July 2021.
The second opening will take place in Lake Stevens, Wash., despite some construction setbacks. According to local news, the project broke ground in June 2021 but was met with opposition from a neighborhood coalition over ecological concerns. The work was able to move forward, however, and they are set to open sometime in October as the fourth Costco in Snohomish County.
The end of the year is a bustling time for Costco, launching locations just in time for new members to experience all the holiday wonders the warehouse aisles have to offer.
Shoppers can expect to welcome stores in the South (Athens, Ga. and University City, Miss.), the Midwest (Ankeny, Iowa and Liberty Township, Ohio), and the West (Redding, Calif. and Logan, Utah).
The Costco shopping experience isn’t just reserved for consumers in the United States. There are currently 11 countries outside of the U.S. with a Costco footprint, including Canada, Mexico, Japan, South Korea and the United Kingdom. This fall, Costco is adding New Zealand to the list as well as extending its reach in South Korea.
The very first warehouse in New Zealand has been placed in Auckland, a city with over 1.5 million residents. An Oceania-based news outlet MiNDFOOD reported that, though the opening is set for August, membership sales started in March 2022, when “customers were seen queuing for hours outside the Costco New Zealand store in Westgate, Auckland to get their hands on a membership.” The location will be a mega-store, spanning three floors and offering groceries, homewares, liquor, an optometrist, a food court, and a gas station for members.
Meanwhile, South Korea will add two more storefronts to their existing 10. Gimhae, a city next to the Nakdong River, will be the first to open its doors this August, with Gocheok, a town in Seoul, to follow in October.
