This Trader Joe’s Item May Contain Plastic, Company Says

Trader Joe’s has issued a warning to customers about one of its products, saying it may contain plastic. The company said in a statement that it has been alerted to the potential presence of plastic in its Organic Yellow Peas, which are sold in 16-ounce bags.

The company said it has removed the product from store shelves and is asking customers who have purchased the product to discard it or return it to any Trader Joe’s for a full refund.

The company said it is working with its supplier to investigate the issue and determine the source of the plastic. It said it is also working with the Food and Drug Administration to ensure the safety of its products.

Trader Joe’s said it is committed to providing customers with safe and high-quality products and apologized for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Eat This Not That

If you’re a fan of Trader Joe’s, it’s important to be aware of the potential presence of plastic in some of its products. While the company is working to investigate the issue and ensure the safety of its products, it’s best to avoid the Organic Yellow Peas until the issue is resolved.

Instead, opt for other healthy and delicious items from Trader Joe’s, such as its frozen fruits and vegetables, nuts and seeds, and whole grains. These items are a great way to get the nutrients you need without the risk of consuming plastic.

Packages of a ready-to-eat chicken salad product sold at Trader Joe’s are being recalled because they may contain hard plastic, according to a public health alert issued by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service.

The issue is related to the salad dressing used in the items, which is regulated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

The affected Crunchy Slaw with Chicken, Crispy Noodles & Peanut Dressing products were sold at Trader Joe’s stores in Arizona, California, New Mexico, Nevada, and Utah. “No injuries have been reported to date, and all potentially affected product has been removed from sale,” the retailer said in a recall notice posted to its website on March 10.

Unfortunately, this isn’t the only recall announced by a major grocery chain as of late. 25,500+ bags of tortilla chips sold at Walmart are being recalled because they may contain metal. The FDA alerted shoppers to a Class II recall involving bags of Great Value Restaurant Style White Corn Tortilla Chips sold in five states.
