Now, one of America’s biggest pizza chains is taking the New York-style pie national, thanks to its latest menu update. According to Chew Boom, Papa John’s will be adding a New York-style crust option to its menu this December. Currently, the chain offers Original Crust, Epic Stuffed Crust, and a Thin Crust, as well as a gluten-free crust option.

The new crust from Papa John’s will only come in one 16-inch size and will provide eight oversized foldable slices—aka the authentic NYC pizza experience. The pizzas will be single-topping only, and the dough used to make the pies will be made fresh as opposed to previously frozen.

A YouTube food blogger Peep This Out got a chance to try a Papa John’s New York pizza early and gave it a thumbs up. He selected a sausage-topped pie and called it “really tasty… delicious stuff,” remarking on the verisimilitude of the pie compared with the original New York City pizzas from his childhood.

You can try the new menu item at participating locations starting in late December.
