A new survey has revealed the best supermarket in America, and it’s not one of the big-name chains. According to the survey, the top-rated supermarket in the country is Wegmans, a regional chain with stores in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic states.

The survey, conducted by Market Force Information, asked more than 11,000 shoppers to rate their satisfaction with their most recent supermarket visit. Wegmans scored highest, with a satisfaction score of 79%. Trader Joe’s came in second with a score of 77%, followed by Publix (76%), H-E-B (75%), and Aldi (74%).

Wegmans scored highest in all categories, including customer service, store cleanliness, checkout speed, and product selection. The chain also scored highest in overall satisfaction, with 79% of shoppers saying they were “very satisfied” with their visit.

The survey also revealed that shoppers are increasingly looking for convenience when it comes to grocery shopping. More than half of shoppers said they prefer to shop online, and nearly two-thirds said they would be willing to pay more for convenience.

So if you’re looking for the best supermarket in America, look no further than Wegmans. With its wide selection of products, friendly customer service, and convenient online shopping options, it’s no wonder why shoppers are so satisfied with their experience.

For the Reader’s Choice list, a panel of 10Best experts nominated U.S. supermarkets based on value, selection, and service, and then readers cast their votes for their favorite supermarkets over a 28-day period. According to USA Today, “the original Fresh Market was inspired by the food markets of Europe–a place where shoppers could have a more intimate and personalized experience than the warehouse-style supermarkets of the time.”

“We are thrilled to be recognized as the best in America again,” The Fresh Market President and CEO Jason Potter said in a statement. “We are thankful to our guests for their votes and ongoing support this past year and grateful for our team members who offer impeccable guest service every day.”

The Fresh Market noted that its stores are a “destination for guests to discover convenient, restaurant-quality meals, premium baked goods, fresh-cut flowers, fresh seasonal produce, unique ingredients from around the globe, and the finest meat and seafood in their town.”

Midwestern grocer Hy-Vee came in second on the USA Today 10Best supermarkets list, followed in third place by discount grocery chain ALDI.

The poll also pointed to Aldi’s rapid U.S. expansion. “With more than 2,100 stores and growing, Aldi simplifies shopping with a wide variety of products, from organic produce and meat, everyday essentials and seasonal favorites,” USA Today said in the 10Best review of Aldi.
