Taco Bell’s “Best Burrito Ever” Is Coming Back This Week

The burrito is made with a double portion of seasoned beef, nacho cheese sauce, reduced-fat sour cream, diced tomatoes, and reduced-fat three-cheese blend, all wrapped in a warm flour tortilla. It’s a delicious combination of flavors that will have you coming back for more.

The burrito is available for a limited time only, so make sure to get your hands on one before it’s gone. It’s the perfect way to satisfy your Taco Bell cravings without breaking the bank.

So, what are you waiting for? Head to your nearest Taco Bell and get your hands on the “Best Burrito Ever” before it’s gone!

When Taco Bell first released its perhaps cheesiest burrito ever, it didn’t take long for fans to fall in love with the item. In fact, praise like “the chain’s best dish in years” and “best burrito ever” was bestowed on the new burrito, which is no small feat considering how frequently the chain delights its die-hard fans with some epic new concoction or another.

The $2.99 item was an indulgent version of the classic American grilled cheese in burrito form. Taco Bell said that was the literal inspiration behind it, and sure enough, besides the seasoned beef, rice, crunchy red strips, chipotle sauce, and sour cream, the burrito featured the chain’s proprietary cheese blend on the inside as well as crusted (or grilled, rather) onto the outside of its tortilla.

Then, in true Taco Bell fashion, the addiction-inducing cheesy burrito left the menus several weeks later, and its fans had a collective conniption fit. Yes, they protested this removal almost as much as the discontinuation of the Mexican Pizza, even starting another petition for its return. Lucky for them, this was always meant to be a limited-time item, so the fact that it’s currently unavailable can only mean one thing—it will be coming back soon enough.

And maybe even sooner than you think—like this week? While we don’t have the official confirmation of this news from Taco Bell, there’s enough buzz on Reddit and Twitter to make us fairly certain the Grilled Cheese Burrito will be making an appearance at Taco Bell this Thursday.

For one, there was a leak of Taco Bell’s new promo materials on Reddit several days ago, showing that the Grilled Cheese Burrito will now come in two different iterations: Double Steak and the classic Seasoned Beef. There also looks to be an optional addition of jalapeno slices on top, baked into that cheesy crust.

Additionally, another insider chimed in, saying you’ll also be able to make the burrito vegetarian again and get it as Double Black Bean. How do they know? Employee training videos, allegedly.

Another user said they had heard about the return of the Grilled Cheese Burrito from a local Taco Bell employee.

Then a new post in the Taco Bell community revealed that the item is actually available today as an early access promotion through the chain’s phone app. And sure enough, we saw it in our apps too.

However, some have noticed that the price of the item has gone up since its last appearance on the menu—it’s now over $5 (but prices vary by location.)

Another downside you may want to keep in mind before you dig in? The burrito clocks in at 940 calories, which is a lot for something you’ll eat in one sitting and likely add some sides and a drink to. But other than that, you can put your petition-signing pen down and rejoice—the Grilled Cheese Burrito is back!
