Popeyes Is Getting Rid Of This Restaurant Feature For Good — Eat This Not That

By Ghuman

Introduction

Popeyes is making a big change to their restaurant experience. The popular fast-food chain is getting rid of a feature that has been a staple of their restaurants for years. This feature is the “Eat This Not That” menu, which allowed customers to choose healthier options when ordering. The move is part of Popeyes’ commitment to providing healthier options for their customers. This article will discuss why Popeyes is getting rid of this feature and what it means for customers.

Popeyes Is Getting Rid Of This Restaurant Feature For Good

Popeyes is saying goodbye to one of its most beloved features. The fast-food chain is getting rid of its popular “dine-in” option, which allowed customers to eat their meals in the restaurant. The move comes as the company looks to streamline its operations and focus on its drive-thru and delivery services.

The decision to eliminate the dine-in option was made in response to the coronavirus pandemic, which has caused many restaurants to close their dining rooms and focus on takeout and delivery. Popeyes is following suit, and is now encouraging customers to order their meals online or through the drive-thru.

Popeyes is not the only fast-food chain to make this move. McDonald’s, Burger King, and Wendy’s have all eliminated their dine-in options in recent months. The move is part of a larger trend of restaurants shifting away from traditional dining experiences and towards more convenient takeout and delivery options.

While the dine-in option may be gone for good, Popeyes is still offering plenty of other ways for customers to enjoy their meals. The chain is still offering its drive-thru and delivery services, as well as its online ordering system. Customers can also take advantage of the chain’s new “Popeyes To Go” option, which allows them to order their meals online and pick them up at the restaurant.

Popeyes’ decision to eliminate its dine-in option is a sign of the times. As the coronavirus pandemic continues to affect the restaurant industry, more and more chains are shifting away from traditional dining experiences and towards more convenient takeout and delivery options.

It’s the end of an era at Popeyes, according to reports coming out of Lafayette, La. According to a local radio station, Hot 107.9, the beloved chicken chain is doing away with its last existing buffet.

In case you missed it, Popeyes had operated all-you-can-eat buffets filled with fried chicken, biscuits, and mac and cheese at some of its stores over the years. But according to the radio station, the restaurant at 1300 W. Pinhook Road was the last remaining location to do so. Now, employees have confirmed that the buffet is gone for good.

During the pandemic, the Lafayette restaurant temporarily shut down its indoor dining, and while COVID-19 restrictions have eased up since, management decided to retire the buffet feature altogether. The restaurant even removed a green banner sign on the marquee advertising the all-you-can-eat Popeyes option as the last remaining of its kind in the world.

According to Eater, the buffet was somewhat of a hometown celebrity and was covered in the local media often. It cost less than $10 to eat as much fried chicken and sides as you possibly can—something even the late Anthony Bourdain enjoyed when shooting an episode of his TV show Parts Unknown in town. The superstar chef and food journalist allegedly ate at the buffet for three days straight and confessed his addiction to the chain’s Mac & Cheese.

Hot 107.9 says the chain operated three buffet locations worldwide in 2010. Five years later, the radio station was able to confirm that at least one of those stores, in Panama City, had phased out its buffet option. By 2017, Lafayette was the last remaining Popeyes buffet in the world.
