WHAT PARACETAMOL AND CAFFEINE TABLETS ARE AND WHAT THEY ARE USED FOR Paracetamol and Caffeine Tablets contain two active ingredients, paracetamol and caffeine. Paracetamol is a painkiller and caffeine is a stimulant. Paracetamol and Caffeine Tablets are used to relieve pain and reduce fatigue. They are used to treat headaches, muscle aches, colds and flu, and other minor aches and pains. 2. BEFORE YOU TAKE PARACETAMOL AND CAFFEINE TABLETS Do not take Paracetamol and Caffeine Tablets if you: • are allergic to paracetamol, caffeine or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6) • have a stomach ulcer • have a kidney or liver disease • are pregnant or breastfeeding • are taking other medicines containing paracetamol or caffeine. Take special care with Paracetamol and Caffeine Tablets if you: • have high blood pressure • have heart problems • have diabetes • have an overactive thyroid • have a history of drug or alcohol abuse. Taking other medicines Please tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription. 3. HOW TO TAKE PARACETAMOL AND CAFFEINE TABLETS Always take Paracetamol and Caffeine Tablets exactly as your doctor has told you. You should check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure. The usual dose is one or two tablets every four to six hours, as needed. Do not take more than eight tablets in 24 hours. Do not take Paracetamol and Caffeine Tablets for more than three days without consulting your doctor. If your symptoms persist or worsen, consult your doctor. If you take more Paracetamol and Caffeine Tablets than you should If you take too many tablets, contact your doctor or nearest hospital casualty department immediately. 4. POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS Like all medicines, Paracetamol and Caffeine Tablets can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. The most common side effects are: • nausea • vomiting • stomach pain • dizziness • headache • restlessness • difficulty sleeping. If any of these side effects become serious or if you notice any other side effects not listed in this leaflet, please tell your doctor or pharmacist. 5. HOW TO STORE PARACETAMOL AND CAFFEINE TABLETS Keep out of the reach and sight of children. Do not use Paracetamol and Caffeine Tablets after the expiry date which is stated on the carton and blister. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month. Do not store above 25°C. 6. FURTHER INFORMATION What Paracetamol and Caffeine Tablets contain The active ingredients are paracetamol 650mg and caffeine 50mg. The other ingredients are maize starch, povidone, sodium starch glycollate, magnesium stearate, colloidal anhydrous silica, talc, hypromellose, macrogol 6000, titanium dioxide (E171), iron oxide yellow (E172) and iron oxide red (E172).
