Over 3 Million of These Gummies Sold at Costco, Walmart, Target, and More Are Being Recalled

If you’ve recently purchased gummies from Costco, Walmart, Target, or other retailers, you may want to check the label. According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), over 3 million packages of gummies are being recalled due to the potential presence of an undeclared allergen.

The recall affects the following products:

  • Gummy Bears distributed by The Hain Celestial Group, Inc. in 5-ounce, 10-ounce, and 22-ounce packages with UPC codes 0-23254-00261-7, 0-23254-00261-7, and 0-23254-00262-4, respectively.
  • Gummy Worms distributed by The Hain Celestial Group, Inc. in 5-ounce, 10-ounce, and 22-ounce packages with UPC codes 0-23254-00263-1, 0-23254-00263-1, and 0-23254-00264-8, respectively.

The products were sold at Costco, Walmart, Target, and other retailers nationwide. The FDA says the products may contain an undeclared milk allergen, which could cause an allergic reaction in those with a milk allergy or sensitivity.

The recall was initiated after the company received a customer complaint that the product contained milk, which is not listed on the label. The FDA is advising consumers who have purchased the recalled products to not consume them and to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.

If you have any questions about the recall, you can contact The Hain Celestial Group, Inc. at 1-800-434-4246.

Around 3.74 million bottles of Airborne Gummies sold at Costco, Target, Walmart, and other retailers between May 2020 and February 2022 are being recalled after 70 reports of faulty packaging.

A recall notice posted by the Consumer Product Safety Commission says that the cap or seal on the Immune System gummies made by Reckitt may pop off the bottle when opened for the first time. Of the 70 reports filed, the issue has caused 18 minor injuries, one of which required medical attention.

The recall includes the blueberry pomegranate, orange, and assorted fruit flavors sold in bottles of 63 and 75 gummies for between $18 and $33. They were found in Walmart, Costco, and Target, as well as Kroger, BJ’s Wholesale Club, Walgreens, CVS, Sam’s Club, Schiffvitamins.com, and Amazon.com.

Expiration dates range from 10/31/2021 to 12/31/2022. There are several UPC and lot codes involved. To see a full list, click here.

Should these gummies be in your kitchen, the company says that “Bottles that have already been opened are not subject to this recall as they would have released any pressure build up and do not present an injury hazard.”

But “Consumers with an unopened bottle(s) should not attempt to open the product and should contact Reckitt to return the unopened bottle(s) to receive a full refund. A postage-paid label will be provided.”

Unfortunately, this isn’t the only recall to affect grocery items right now. If you are a Costco member, check your kitchen not only for these gummies, but for a certain can of beans sold at warehouses in 17 states because it could contain small rocks inside. Also, if you’ve shopped at Trader Joe’s recently, too, there’s an item that may be dangerous to consume.
