McDonald’s Is Testing a Chicken Big Mac—Eat This Not That

McDonald’s is testing a new menu item that could be a game-changer for fast food fans. The Chicken Big Mac is a new sandwich that features two all-white-meat chicken patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, and onions on a sesame seed bun. The sandwich is currently being tested in select markets in the United States.

The Chicken Big Mac is a great alternative to the traditional Big Mac for those looking for a healthier option. The all-white-meat chicken patties are lower in fat and calories than the beef patties, making it a great option for those watching their waistlines. Plus, the special sauce adds a delicious flavor to the sandwich that you won’t find in the original Big Mac.

If you’re looking for a healthier option at McDonald’s, the Chicken Big Mac is definitely worth a try. It’s a great way to enjoy the classic Big Mac flavor without all the extra calories and fat. Plus, it’s a great way to switch up your fast food routine and try something new.

Move over, burgers. Chicken is the name of the game at McDonald’s yet again.

It seems that just like Burger King, McDonald’s has decided that its latest and greatest chicken sandwiches aren’t enough to satisfy the public’s appetite for fried chicken. So it’s bringing in reinforcements!

Enter the Chicken Big Mac, aka two tempura chicken patties replacing the beef of the popular Big Mac, and mingling with the familiar special sauce, American cheese, pickles, shredded lettuce, and sesame bun (don’t worry, beef lovers, you can still order your Big Mac retro-style).

According to The Washington Post, the Golden Arches is testing this major new chicken sandwich in the United Kingdom, and will be bringing it to the U.S. in late August. For now, the limited test will only include locations in Miami, Fla. but if all goes well, we could see the item going nationwide soon.

“While not everything we test makes it on our U.S. menus, we’ll use this time to gather feedback from both customers and restaurant crew as we consider opportunities to offer more delicious options in the future,” the company said in an email to The Washington Post.

However, if you’re itching to try it, you may be able to use this clever hack: Simply order two McChickens and a Big Mac, and put the chicken into the sandwich instead of the beef. Voila: A Chicken Big Mac.

The chain launched three premium chicken sandwiches nationwide in February 2021: a Crispy Chicken Sandwich (fried chicken patty, crinkle-cut pickles on a brioche bun), a Deluxe (with pickles, lettuce, tomato, and mayo), and a Spicy (comes with a spicy pepper sauce). Those three remain on the menu, along with the Chicken McNuggets, and the regular McChicken.

But could McDonald’s new chicken sandwich finally win (and put a cap on) the chicken wars? And will Big Mac fans be angered that their tried-and-true sandwich that’s been on the menu since 1968 has been transformed into yet another chicken snack? We’ll have to wait and see.
