America’s favorite Mexican fast-casual has launched many delightful menu additions over the years, bettering the nation’s build-your-own burrito and burrito bowl experience. Now, Chipotle is launching a seasonal beverage to round out those summertime orders.

The Watermelon Limeade, Chipotle’s first-ever seasonal beverage that combines the flavors of sweet watermelon and real lime, was added to the menus this week as a limited-time offer for the upcoming summer season. The chain’s new drink was developed in partnership with Tractor Beverage Co., a company committed to organic farming practices.

The fruity beverage is now available at all Chipotle restaurants in the U.S. and Canada, with the chain committing 5% of the drinks’ sales to causes that support farmers.

Made with all-natural ingredients, the Tractor’s Watermelon Limeade is 100% certified organic, non-GMO, and contains no additives or preservatives, the chain said in a press release.

Before this official launch of the Tractor’s Watermelon Limeade, Chipotle tested the product in Atlanta, Kansas City, and Orange County, Calif. with great success.

“The consumer response to Watermelon Limeade surpassed expectations as it quickly became our bestselling Tractor Beverage in test markets last year,” said Stephanie Perdue, vice president of marketing at Chipotle. “We’re thrilled to introduce our first seasonal beverage with the freshest flavors of summer.”

Not only is the fast-food chain making major moves on the organic beverage front, but it has also set out to make a change and play a part in growing support for organic farming as a whole.

Chipotle sourced over 40 million pounds of ingredients that were strictly organic and transitional within the year 2021. And according to the chain, in hopes to foster the future of farming, it has offered to secure long-term contracts for farmers under the age of 40 (who meet its Food with Integrity standards) and committed $5 million to the cause by the end of 2025.
