1. What Cefexime 200 mg + Clavulanic Acid 125 mg Tablets are and what they are used for

Cefexime 200 mg + Clavulanic Acid 125 mg Tablets contain two active ingredients, cefexime and clavulanic acid. Cefexime is an antibiotic belonging to the cephalosporin group of antibiotics. Clavulanic acid is a beta-lactamase inhibitor which helps to prevent certain bacteria from becoming resistant to cefexime.

Cefexime 200 mg + Clavulanic Acid 125 mg Tablets are used to treat infections caused by bacteria.

2. Before you take Cefexime 200 mg + Clavulanic Acid 125 mg Tablets

Do not take Cefexime 200 mg + Clavulanic Acid 125 mg Tablets if you:

• are allergic (hypersensitive) to cefexime, clavulanic acid or any of the other ingredients of Cefexime 200 mg + Clavulanic Acid 125 mg Tablets (listed in section 6)

• have had an allergic reaction to any other beta-lactam antibiotic (e.g. penicillins, cephalosporins)

Take special care with Cefexime 200 mg + Clavulanic Acid 125 mg Tablets

• if you have kidney or liver problems

• if you have a history of colitis (inflammation of the bowel)

• if you have a history of allergic reactions

• if you are pregnant or breast-feeding
