Walmart is already a go-to for shoppers when it comes to pharmaceutical needs, but the company has been busy expanding its healthcare options in the last few years. In 2019 it opened its first brick-and-mortar Walmart Health centers, with a few others arriving the year after. Although Walmart slowed the expansion in 2021, it has since added five more. All offer medical, dental, and optometry services to insured and uninsured shoppers. And to encourage more people to try some of its services out, Walmart is offering them for free or at an affordable price soon.

On Saturday, July 23 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. local time, glucose, cholesterol, BMI, and blood pressure screenings and the COVID-19 vaccine are free and immunizations like pneumonia, tetanus, HPV, measles, mumps, rubella, chicken pox/shingles, whooping cough, Hepatitis A & B, and more will be affordable at 4,600 Walmart pharmacies across the country as part of Walmart Wellness Day. Oftentimes these services can cost hundreds of dollars out of pocket.

“Walmart Wellness Day encourages families to get healthy and stay on a healthy track by helping them know their numbers and then seek care to improve their lifestyles,” the mega-retailer says in a post on its website. “Walmart Wellness Day is also a great time for customers to learn about our health and wellness offerings and solutions.”

This isn’t the first time an event like this is happening. Walmart Wellness Days have been going on since 2014 and have helped shoppers get free and discounted healthcare no matter if they have insurance or not. Since the start, the company has given out 4.7 million free health screenings that are otherwise required to be taken at doctors’ offices or via costly at-home tests.
