Eat This, Not That

When it comes to Burger King burgers, these are the best of the best. So next time you’re at Burger King, make sure to try one of these delicious burgers. And remember, eat this, not that!

Burger King is known for flame-broiled burger patties and letting customers “have it your way.” You might be unsure of which flame-kissed burger to get, though, especially with fancy-sounding names like “Steakhouse King.” To help you decide which burger is worth it, I put each one to the test with the help of my carnivorous husband, Jonathan.

Here are the best-tasting Burger King burgers we would order again, ranked from pretty good to the absolute best. (To be fair, though, we’re not sure how often we’ll order—the website is complicated and many of their locations don’t seem to offer online ordering.) If Burger King is your favorite fast-food spot, look no further for our rankings of how each burger stacked up. And for more, check out We Tried Every Burger at McDonald’s & This Is the Best.

This is a simply prepared burger topped with pickles and ketchup. It didn’t make our heart race, but it was a good way to get a taste of that flame-broiled flavor. If calories are important to you, this one is on the lower end of the spectrum.

The bacon isn’t as noticeable as you’d think it would be in a burger with “bacon” in the name, but overall, this was a tasty package. It features two beef patties topped with American cheese, ketchup, mayo, and, duh, two slices of bacon. At $6.49 at our local BK, though, it’s one of the more expensive options, so we’re not sure we’d order it again.

This one was almost indistinguishable from the Bacon King. It also has two 1/4-pound patties, cheese, and bacon. The difference here, though, is the “Stacker Sauce,” which appeared to be a tangy, mayo-based sauce. And it was delicious. But honestly, just like with the Bacon King, we were left unimpressed overall.

If you like A1 sauce, as I do, this is a dream burger. It’s two 1/4-pound patties with three half-strips of bacon, American cheese, A1 sauce, and crispy onions. The crispy onions kind of get lost in the shuffle, but that’s okay; it was a good burger regardless.

We ordered the single patty of this classic option, and it was good. You still get all the toppings that you do with the triple, but, as Jonathan pointed out, “the patties are overwhelmed.” There’s more balance with a triple Whopper and, we’d bet, with a double.

This was Jonathan’s favorite burger of the evening, and honestly, it’s probably the best bang for your buck if you want to chow down on something that feels like a restaurant burger. “It’s all about the toppings on this one,” he said. It was messy, but we forgave it. The burger features three thin patties topped with American cheese, fresh onion, tomatoes, pickles, lettuce, and mayo. I normally pick off the raw onion, but I found that the zestiness really worked here. This was the most expensive option we ordered at $7.29, but it was worth it for the heft.

This one was my favorite, hands down. I don’t need a massive burger to satisfy me, but I do need a little dazzle factor. The Rodeo Burger has a beef patty topped with American cheese, “sweet and smoky BBQ sauce,” and two onion rings, and it totally delivered. If you don’t want to splurge on an entire side of onion rings, consider compromising with this burger.
