Americans have a tricky relationship with vegetables, according to a survey conducted on behalf of Bolthouse Farms. The survey polled 2,122 Americans on their veggie buying and cooking habits, plus their general thoughts on including vegetables in a healthy diet. While most of those surveyed appreciated the physical benefits of eating veggies, some expressed anxiety about actually trying or cooking a new vegetable for the first time.

The good news is that you don’t have to be adventurous with your produce selection in order to reap the benefits of vegetables. The veggies you’re probably already eating contain a host of health-promoting nutrients that will support a healthy lifestyle.
