You may have heard that Hooters employees recently filed complaints about the chain’s new uniforms which are shockingly more revealing. The change is the shorts, which now resemble underwear. But in response to the backlash the company received from employees, Hooters decided to backpedal on the new short requirements.

“As we continue to listen and update the image of the Hooters Girls, we are clarifying that they have the option to choose from traditional uniforms or the new ones,” a spokesperson wrote in an email to Business Insider. “They can determine which style of shorts best fits their body style and personal image.”

Bombshells is another restaurant chain that requires its female employees to wear objectifying work uniforms. The Texas-based chain was designed to honor all branches of the military—and for some reason that entails waitresses wearing pin-up themed outfits.
