WHAT CEPHALEXIN IS AND WHAT IT IS USED FOR Cephalexin is an antibiotic. It belongs to a group of medicines called cephalosporins. It is used to treat infections caused by bacteria. Cephalexin is used to treat infections of the middle ear, tonsils, throat, larynx (laryngitis), bronchi (bronchitis) and pneumonia.
