Brad Pitt is no stranger to the world of luxury, and now he’s bringing his own brand of bubbly to the table. The actor has teamed up with Champagne house G.H. Mumm to create a limited-edition bottle of champagne, and it’s sure to be a hit with fans.

The champagne, called “Fleur de Miraval,” is a blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier grapes. It’s described as having a “delicate and complex” flavor, with notes of citrus, white flowers, and honey. The bottle is adorned with a label featuring a drawing of Pitt’s Château Miraval estate in France, where the grapes for the champagne were grown.

But the real surprise is the price tag. The champagne retails for $399, making it one of the most expensive bottles of bubbly on the market. It’s certainly a splurge, but it’s sure to be a hit with fans of the actor.

According to People, this week Brad Pitt is launching the second-ever blend of his pink champagne, Champagne Fleur de Miraval. The report suggests that Pitt partnered with sixth-generation French winemaker, Pierre Peters, who spoke to the uniqueness the Oscar-winning actor insisted his champagne brand should bring.

“Brad wanted to launch a champagne—but not a copycat type,” Peters said to the magazine.

Together they developed a blend that’s 75% chardonnay grapes and 25% pinot noir. As part of a distinct winemaking method, the grapes “remain in contact with seeds and skins,” People reports, which is said to create a deeper, darker, bolder flavor.

Called ER2 (for “exclusively rosé 2”), the blend “is a delicate wine with a creamy texture . . . and a pronounced hint of pink—rather than red—fruit in the mouth,” People reports.

In his own words, Pitt commented on the champagne: “Each edition of Fleur de Miraval is a constant quest for beauty, a desire to create space for all possibilities,” he said.

Pitt has allegedly been at work on this bubbly since 2012, with this vintage variety in secret development for the past five years.

If it sounds worth sampling, well, it might not be your casual accompaniment to a Friday night charcuterie board. For all the effort that went into this bottle, People reports it’s likely to be sold at retail for around $400 per bottle.

So, why all of a sudden is the news making a splash? Well, there could be some juicy backstory at play. Angelina Jolie, from whom Pitt divorced in 2019, sold off her share of their wine business last month. It seems like this champagne might represent a final tie they shared, and more of Pitt’s solo ventures ahead.

These two A-listers may not be likely to toast the new vintage together—but if you like champagne like we do, this is a sip that will have us daydreaming about the weekend…
